Mu Ko Angthong is a Marine National Park in the Gulf of Thailand located on the shores of the Suratthani Province. It covers 42 islands in a total area of 102 km², of which only 18 km² are land. The park was established in November 12, 1980 and is considered a national treasure in Thailand.

The name Angthong means "golden bowl", while Mu Ko simply means group of islands. Angthong National Marine Park is comprised of a group of 40 or so islands making up stunning vistas of a forest full of rock formations. Angthong National Marine Park occupies almost 250 sq. km. and includes 50 sq. km. of limestone islands and karsts topography. Most of the islands are close to each other making a breathtaking panorama when sailing around this true wonder of Mother Nature.
Limestone islands consist of an abundance of caves, swim-throughs and overhangs. The coral is varied with many types of sea fans and black corals, and home to a large variety of fish. Visibility average is 15 meters and depth range from 1 meter to 30 meters which makes it ideal for snorkeling too.
